iFootprint

I've spent the last few hours watching the final season of sabrina the teenage witch, and so things are going pretty well for me is what I'm driving at. I've been depressed lately... For various stupid reasons. But it's caused me me to re evaluate my ifootprint (that's a thing, right? ). the various awkward social networking I've done, the unsuccessful Internet dating I've done and my Craigs list postings to... Sell things, and yeah, sell things. I've tried a lot of different types things to make my self some sort of celeb-u-nerd, something the validate my encyclopedic knowledge of comic books and wrestling, my love of canceled sitcoms and all the other weird things that I like that others don't. I've tweeted as thewrestleman, and blogged, and tumbled as BrendanFM and I even have a really stupid YouTube channel. As it stands I'm obsessed with the things that I like, and but more importantly obsessed with ring appreciated For liking those things

So this is the same thing

songs about leaving and distance...(i miss you)

i got to thinking about the topic of leaving, i know a few people who have people leaving their lives for various causes. faith. work or school. what ever the reason may be, it leaves a pretty big hole in your heart to have some one leave your life especially when you've come to rely on them and expect them to always be there. there's lots of music that might serve as medicinal if only to distract you and let you know that other people out there who are feeling the same as you...people who can play keytar and have better than singing voices than you, they feel abandoned sometimes too.

new found glory dressed to kill is what prompted me to start this topic. personally i feel like this song is for more advanced couples with more experience points than the rest. but with lyrics like "I can't dream anymore since you left I miss you singing me to sleep I can't wake anymore in your arms" at it's core it's a break up song but i pick and choose lyrics lyrics sometime to better suit my needs, sue me...don't actually sue as what i'm talking about is misrepresentation, and might be considered liable. either way theirs some value to this song if you miss some one something fierce.

blink 182 has like 7,000 songs about missing whatever it is they're missing. going away to college is the one i chose. it's really more about the insecurity comes with doing the whole different college's things. because as much as you talk to someone and tell them how you feel it doesn't come close to the security and warmth of having them there in your arms."Just don't forget to think about me
And I won't forget you" is one helluva lyric amongst a sea of corny ones but also pretty sure those dudes were like 15 when that album came out.

you might be saying "brendan, i'm a dude who just misses his bro in a totally hetero way, surely there's no songs for me in this play list of yours?" well friend i have news for you i have not one but two songs for you. greg's last day by the starting line is a song about a dude whose best friend moves away, and he's super bummed. it's a really great song i've gone through this whole thing a couple of times and am currently dealing with it too. it's kind of heavy at times with lines like "Greg's last day is our last chance to be best friends
Until we say "goodbye" and "I'll try to see you when the weather clears" or more so with "Then I went home and prayed that tomorrow
You would turn the car right back around.
Evergreen Rd just won't feel the same,
Since your gone." but if this is to intense for you the alternative is tenacious d with dude(i totally miss you) i don't really feel like i need to explain the relevance of that song, so i won't

now if some one left you it's kind of a bit trickier. your looking for music that says how you feel, but also says they he or she is significant to you "the early November come back is just wonderful...scratch that the early november is wonderful. but come back is applicable so we'll hyper focus on that for a moment. come back is pretty raw and blunt "Come back Please don't leave me now I'll be all that you need in life Because I can't live without you and I know all that you need I can give you everything" if you want to go another route. a considerably creepier route at that the spill canvas "all over you" is dripping with desperation. i'm sure some boy or girl is just dying to hear "i've gotta feel you in my bones again
i'm all over you,i'm not over you,i wanna taste you one more time again, i'm all over you.i'm not over you"

spitalfield has a song for everyone or rather had a song for everyone when they unceremoniously broke up about 2 years ago, still though i push them on people in times when great people are in great need or great music. with great music come great responsibility or something like that. either way the song "i love the way she said "l.A." is pretty specific about missing some one is a very specific so i'm not grasping at straws by saying you'll find some solace in this story if only in the line "When I close my eyes and wonder where you are, and you wish upon a star,
two thousand miles doesn't seem so far."

what if you miss someone not quite permanently, shorter than a semester
but longer than a day(because if you miss someone for less than a day, you're clingy) i like death cab for cutie transatlantacism for when theres an ocean between you and you can't stand being more tha heart beat away. "i need you so much closer" really says it all. kevin devine like cursing kids a great song too it talks about seeing that some you miss in your everyday, and how at thoe moments just everything reminds you of them."I saw your freckles on the shoulders of a stranger today
And my heart lept, and my heart lept"

hot rod circuit safely is pretty intense, sometimes it's hard to be away from someone because you know they need you as much as you need them, safely is all about that. "Maybe I can tell you
To keep your head up and follow through
Good things will come to you
I could worry myself to death about you
Hope you get there safely"

everything sucks(when you're gone) is a sugery sweet almost corny song by mxpx that is on the money about missing someone, no matter how long they're gone, this song is just plain cute. if you want little more somber...try mxpx quit your life. which states "quit your life, and stay with me we'll order in and watch tv..." equally fucking adorable

i love this song. straylight run, your name here(sunrise highway). it's perfect for it and i just realized it..see normaly i plan thses out a little better. this one is a tad more impromptu which iswhy my lead ins are more bizarre than they usually are..or less bizarre. either way i just realized this song was perfect, the chorus is just directions home to someone whose waiting for you. effing great

"Please don't leave me without saying goodbye" i know i'm cheating by using the starting line twice but the other one was different. the starting line "leaving" is about fond memories of those...well... leaving your life whatever the reason may be

west coast by coconut records... jason schwartzman was in rushmore, if you need more this song is also very good. keeping in the same line of thinking always on my mind by phantom planet is a great song to let someone know your thinking about them.

goodbye waves and driveways is that somber song that i ususally use to cap off the overall sentiment. "it's hard for me to breathe, i get all worked up with these feelings" and that whole overwhelming aspect of it all.

say goodbye by Briton Malcolm Bennett talks about that casual relationship that you miss dearly, beauty in simplicity in song form. "miss the nights that we shared, your golden hair, your breath and my chest"

alexi murdoch orange sky... "my salvation lies in your love" the intensity in this somber song is amazing

i'm tempted to write more...but seeing as the songs on here are circumstantial it's really more of guideline anyway.either way the point is saying goodbye is easy it's what comes after thats difficult is what i believe should be taken from this whole mess.

spazzy music for spazzy people

I'm gonna dive right in

the first song I've had stuck in my had head for over a weak is the new say anything song... up to a certain point felt like say anything was in a decline... i loved ...is/was a real boy in high school when a friend suggested i borrow it. then i found his b-sides and rarities which we're equally amazing in the angsty relatable fashion... then in defense of the genre... i honestly can barely remember the songs on there that don't have guest spots on them... followed by the two tongues which got me excited because i love saves the day but every song sort of sounded the same on that CD... also mildly gay. the new song "hate everyone" isn't anything amazing.. but it's a step in the right direction... it has a crowd chorus which i got into an argument about just the other day... regardless it's catchy and irreverent... try hate everyone.
(i guess theres a video now)

i feel like a new perspective is supposed be ironic by being the first song panic(!) at the disco since Ryan and the other on left the band... it's poppy, but ultimately forgettable... either way it's worth listening to i suppose, if only out of curiosity.
check out new perspective

Weezer! weezer is one of the few bands I'm really a die hard old school about... they're just fun, they always seem to be to convey the tone they want to. and "(if you're wondering if i want you to)i want you to" is no exception, it's a very upbeat song, and really just tells date stories. but in such a way that if you don't smile you might be retarded. also if you didn't check out the red album check out "the greatest man who ever lived"...even if you did, that song is epic.

indietronic gets the better of me every time i hear it in a car commercial after hearing in the mall or at work. i wasn't sure how i felt whn a friend's girlfriend told me that every song on one of my playlists was on her work satellite station which is piped in from satellite by space hipsters i assume. either way little boots is going to be in 4-5 upcoming movies 2 of which star Megan fox and is already in a car commercial...so listen to it hear so you can say you were ahead of the trend...or because you like good music..either way check out this old ass song... new in town by little boots

my inner bro loves 3oh!3...he's also crushes on Katy perry, but only because she looks like a bizarro version of zooey dechannel... so naturally, the combination of the two on a remix on starstrukk a song already had stuck in my head for the better portion of last year...is outta of sight. if you hate yourself for loving awful music check out Katy perry and 3oh3! starstrukk

love rhymes with hideous car wreck...dat's a good song. i found a promotional copy of crimes i got when i was a wee lad street teaming my way to shows. it's till a good CD, i heart the brood brothers, not for everyone though.

flight of the conchords i told you i was freekie
i was so happy to find that they released an extended version of this to itunes. it has more Jermaine in it. "now in your kitchen making love to your cake tin" second season of FotC was great

grand buffet-i found it odd when i came up as one of the op listeners on last.fm for them. still it's east to get into and they really do put on one hell of a live show.candy bars in a great song to start you off.

finally after reading up about the double down at kfc, i felt David bowie and nine inch nails I'm afraid of Americans was applicable

also here's a few more
nightmare of you the bathroom is where i want you

Lets Get under the covers... (me vs. the hits vs. the rest)

the amount of covers dropping these days is ridiculous, it was before a cover would be awesome to hear a show or funny if band covered a song that was uncharacteristic of there style. Now though everyone wants to make it big like the Maine or alien ant farm, I will say it's a great way to get your foot in the door but it can be played out fast. It’s funny in your friend’s car to hear red car wire's version of "I kissed a girl." but I bet you don't listen to them after that, nor should you. They are thoroughly unremarkable. Anyway here’s a list of the hottest songs from different bands, or something like that.

Framing Hanley lollipop
first off the video for this song is like 6 minutes long, which is three minutes longer than the lil Wayne version, it has a plot involving a guy and a girl, and it’s stupid. This song sounds like it's just a different person singing the vocals. I fail to see why this band is popular. But it does answer the question ”what if something were slightly different then the way it already was?"... Exactly.

Lily Allen Womanizer
I love lily Allen, her first album alright still was one of my top albums the year. However she has taken her sweet time coming out with this new album, luckily her new album drops in a few weeks and the promotion machine has her out and about. in her spare time though she managed to record this cover of another returning pop sensation ms. Britney spears, now I’m not crazy about Britney’s song womanizer but it is catchy, so for everyone out there who is too cool to admit to liking Britney lily Allen is comfortable place for you to be. Lily brings and acoustic guitar and an accent to the mix on his cover and that’s all I need because I love it.

Chase the Light Hot N Cold
ZOMG! Katy Perry, I like Katy Perry she has allot going for her tight now, she's made all the right friends, a Madonna endorsement as well as an album that’s catchy as hell and if you enjoy her second single with the retarded as hell video, then check out this chase the light the cover of "Hot N Cold"

Katy Perry Electric Feel
Katy Perry is way to cool to be doing pop covers, she shows the way her musical tastes go when she covers MGMT's electric feel. this is a song that really shows her range as a singer, she has slower songs on her album "one of the boys" but none of them really compare to how somber she is in this jazzy soulful MGMT original that topped the indie charts this year

Akon The take over, the breaks over
man am I not feeling the new Akon CD, also I’m tired of his konvict sound effect, regardless of this last year when fall out boy's infinity on high was all the rage with the kids, Akon an fall out boys Patrick stump had a back and forth cover off, eventually while overseas in the UK Akon recorded this cover of fall out boy's "the takeover the breaks over" it's really quite excellent

Fall out Boy Don't matter

in response to the above song fall out boy recorded akon's hit single don't matter, fall out boy is no stranger to covers, recently Patrick stump blew me away with his cover of the lackluster kanye west single love lockdown, in the past fall out boy have paid homage to other bands and songs alike just because, bands like joy division, Michael Jackson, the police, nightmare before Christmas, gorilla biscuits and one of my favorite bands jawbreaker. I cannot express the amount of appreciation I have for Patrick stump, it's a strong biased I mean I feel some fall out boy's newer stuff is not as good as their older stuff, but honestly this man could sing the dictionary and I’d buy it. just saying'

All Time Low Time To break up

man, I like all time low.... but this is not a good cover, it's poorly recorded it's monotonous and doesn't have the contrast that blink 182 brought to the table. it's still great song but seeing as the topic of discussion is cover songs, all time low has very little to do with that. blink 182 must be rolling over in their graves...err... careers graves... mark hoppus excluded

Get cape, Wear Cape, Fly D.A.N.C.E.
it is very difficult to cover a techno song, especially one I feel is so dependent on a gimmick like kids singing to a synthed out beat, but here we are. I’ve heard very little from "get cape..." before this he has had a few songs reach America to a noticeable degree but this is the first one I remember, the main appeal of this is if you like justice check this out it's awesome

The Honorary Title- No One
I like the honorary tile quite a bit, his tendency to do low quality recording of himself on acoustic guitar are his trademark. I’m iffy on this Alicia keys cover though, I’m not crazy about the original, I think it drags and then when I get into it, it's over. her pacing is off on this version it's the opposite I start out hating it, thinking he's not right for a song like this, then he gets that raw power in his voice to the point where it cracks that I love so much and I remember why I like him in the first place back in the day, because he uses momentum in his music the longer it goes the stronger her gets

the Maine I wanna love you
the Maine are a decent band their this months mtv discover and download for the first single that’s their own in "everything I ask for" but THIS is what got them noticed across "the scene" this and previously doing a cover of love in the club under the name of the summer set. a good band with the range to pull off a cover with out it being silly plus as we learned earlier akon's music translates to other formats really well

The Kooks young folks
this bowie influenced brit band are a cover machine showing love for radiohead and coldplay alike this band wants to be a major deal on small scale, however in my opinion their best cover is of the unfortunate one it wonder of peter, Bjorn and john (whistling not included)...a song you’ll know because.. a.) your awesome b.) You listened to the radio in the last year c.)You watch gray’s anatomy or you just neglected to live under a rock in the past year. Either way it's "the whistling song" if you’re not on a first name(x3) basis with peter Bjorn and john. one way or another check out an interesting take on the song by the kooks, more than likely Britain’s next big lil thing

Ben Folds Bitches Ain't shit
if you don't know Ben fold there’s a good chance your in the wrong place, but Ben folds achieved fame with Ben folds five with singles like brick and army and to a lesser extent song for the dumped, more recently Ben has launched a successful solo career ....even more recently he released the album "way to normal" to great success. if this is news to you check out the majority of what this man has done... but first check out this unorthodox cover of the dr. dre classic "bitches Ain’t shit"

Sea of treachery misery business
you see sea of treachery is a hardcore band where as paramore is not. That is the appeal of this song. I will say it is a particularly good hardcore song, full of double bass and a good screamer. still though I can't help but feel that this was joke to sea of treachery, either way Hailey approved it and sea of treachery have done two national tours since this was relevant...good for them

Kaiser chiefs Time to pretend
I like this version of the MGMT original because they take allot of the tech out of it, it's a good song but this feels more natural ESPECIALLY the decision to replace the main synth in the song with what appears to be a flute or at the very least a lighter synth. to describe would be MGMT lite...which I find appealing

Ryan Adams Times like these
Adams recorded this in the bbc studios while overseas, an admitted fan of the foo fighters Adams really does justice to a really great song, almost to the point where you have to ask if maybe Dave grohl was doing something wrong, on all accounts this is a great song

Between the buried and me bicycle race
I really have issues trying to figure out how Between the buried and me want me to feel about them, they change drastically from album to album. my favorite being "the anatomy of" bicycle is a great queen song one of my favorites, and it was torn apart by the cover on the "official" queen tribute CD...either way this one does it right, so why deal with the rest when you can have the best

the magic numbers crazy in love

I love the magic numbers, I imagine a less annoying moldy peaches, all the romance with out the tone deaf pitch(just kidding, love you kimya) but this beyonce song cause to her to blow up when she hit the scene after the destiny's child break up, unfortunately it did not have the same affect on the magic numbers...it is great though, and romantic. so, throw up the roc and check out crazy in love by the magic numbers

alien ant farm smooth criminal
you know I never thought to question how exactly a new band like these guys got the rights to cover a Michael Jackson song, none the less it's their most successful song to date(sorry movies...)
it's a unique cover, I really think that more people are recognize this version than the MJ Original, this song was son ANThology which was I think the first CD I really liked all the way through, special memories like that are great, too bad their third CD up in the attic was a bore, tragic

say anything got your money

i wasn't really surprised to find that this cover was as good as it was, in this case it's really more a parody, but still to hear Bemis say things like "yo if Bemis wants his money, just give him his money" i also really appreciate that he changed any time ODB refered to himself by using his own name. this of off of the popular punk goes series from fearless records, covers are their greatest export... i'm kidding, actually sugarcult started on fearless so hows that for fame, not much

cartel wonderwall

this was an ambitious move by cartel, this one of those songs that so many people love it's almost dangerous to cover it, not to mention the Gallagher brothers being complete twats. i like this version though, the best parts of the song all shine through, it's a good cover and it's really great not to hear your friend on rock band be the one doing it...for once

cascada truly madly deeply

remember cascada?no? she did everytime we touch...it souded like a DDR song but wasn't.. remember savage garden? neither does anybody else. check out this techno infused savage garden cover of truly madly deeply

Hit the lights hey jealousy

i freaking love the Gin blossoms. hey jealousy is such a great song... i also really liked the first hit the lights CD. this guy has a great voice. after that first CD the lead singer left the band.... but before he did they recorded this hey jealousy cover. it's kind of amazing

hot hot heat rehab

i used to think that the train wreck of a mess, Amy Winehouse was kind of pretty in a classic way. now she's just another racist cokehead diva... so thats fun. hot hot heat takes on her true to life song "rehab" it's alright not the best not the worst, interesting to hear other people do this song.(an intresting note about this, it had me spell check "Winehouse" did you mean whorehouse? haha)

head automatica pulling mussels from a shell

dude squeeze is awesome and so is head automatica, so when they take on the early 90's brittish hit, it's really just great. Palumbo's voice really does this song justice and the redone backtracking remind why i loved squeeze to begin with

Hawthorne Heights Bullet with butterfly wings

before zeitgeist and billy corgan's itunes attack, the smashing pumpkins released music. even releasing a chart topping grunge album "melloncollie and the infinite sadness" one of the more popular songs in that CD was bullet with butterfly wings"(they say rat in a cage in it if that helps you difer from other grunge songs) hawthorne heights got big and carried on the macabre emo movemoent of my chemical romance and bayside, the kind of music that screams about slitting your throat so you won't be heartbroken over a girl. the styles sort of match up here as the range of hawethorne heights sort of works for a smashing pumpkins song

Gatsby's american dream just like heaven

i like the Gatsby's version better than the cure's, it feels more romantic and less whiny. but i also just prefer nick's voice to robert smith's

hellogoodbye weerd science

hellogoodby cover one the best oingo boingo songs, it would do Danny elfman proud

I think this illustrates my point on varying quality of covers. The truth is while it’s sometimes a great idea to work a cover into your library it’s dangerous because there’s always a chance you will get famous from that and people will know you as that “bitches ain’t shit guy” or so on. So be careful

A Holiday Guide to Christmas Music...(part one)

Post this Thursday(thanksgiving),it will be undeniably Christmastime, and all you naysayers and humbugs will have to bite your tongues till the the new year. Following that line it's time for Christmas music, the most decisive way to spread holiday cheer, i love holiday music because it can epic or romantic or funny or failing at being funny(that's squarely aimed at 12 pains of Christmas) or best yet nostalgic. Nostalgic for a simpler time in your life when shopping wasn't a priority and staying up an finishing your list for Santa was. i want to help you recapture those feelings

Anyway, I've begun work on my holiday seasonal mix which i have dubbed my "chris-mix." i tried Hanukkah jamz but it failed to roll off the tongue the same way. as their are lot of copycats out there this year, i have decided to work on my mix publicly and openly share my thought on holiday music I've been mulling over as I've mowed it over. That being said I'll be sharing my seasonal journey as i traverse the ups and downs of Christmas music i encounter and at the end I'll be sharing my mix with you to pass along to your friends and family as your own... i call it

A Holiday Guide to Christmas Music...(part one)

Brand new- oh holy night
i like brand new a lot... but i hate this song. i think oh holy night requires some expression which mr. Lacey does not exhibit. also some thing i really enjoyed about "deja entendu" doesn't carry over and just annoys me on this track. I'm talking about how you can hear him take deep breaths... it just sounds like he's bored... some parts are peaceful, but their are better versions of this song out there.

(anyone) baby, it's cold outside
probably my favorite seasonal song, it's dripping with romance in the most wholesome way you can be with out being obscene. If you don't know the song, it's about a guy trying to convince a girl not to leave following a date and the girl giving reasons to not stay. originally written by Frank Loesser back in 1944, as a duet for him and his wife, this song has a very old New York feel to it. kind of a metropolitan romantic style if that makes sense. the main issue i have with this song is that it's covered quite a few times now some good like Zooey Dechannel on the elf soundtrack, some bad like Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey and some just plain weird like the star trek yule tide orchestra. my favorite is actually by Skylana and Seth Roberts, it's cover that has a really true to self sound to it, in it's production or rather lack of it.

June- wonderful Christmastime
surprisingly not many covers of this song, well not THAT surprising as i feel McCartney's accent really made this song unique. still though June does it more justice than camp rock's Demi Lavoto does. I'm still not sure which tween sensation is going to have a huge holiday hit this year, probably some sort of Jonas brother. either way i feel the opening synthesized keyboard in the June version strong enough to be unique with out betraying the original.

Belle and Sebastian- O come, O come, Emmanuel
i struggled with this on because there are a few REALLY great versions of this song. Thrice's Dustin Kensrue as well as sixpence none the richer. B&S take it because you get a real religious feel out of their version. it's a downright sanctimonious experience... in a fun way

Low- Just Like Christmas
it's seems like good "new" Christmas songs are few and far between. but low do it right, so good in fact that snow patrol covered this song a couple years back on a California Christmas radio compilation, but as low wrote this song in the span of my lifetime, we won't acknowledge their version, which is decent. Either way this song is great because it's really poppy and understandable, it's somber without detracting from the "jolly" of the season. theres a warm feeling of holiday peace that you get from this song, especially in the snow at night

Eels- every thing's gonna be cool this Christmas
there are TWO really great Eels Christmas originals that i recommend, this is the first. this song is great to shake any holiday blues you might have really for any reason whatsoever. it's hard to focus on sadness when this song is on. I dare you not to smile when he says "baby Jesus, born to rock" this is Christmas party music at it's best.

... part one closes on an upbeat note, check out these songs and check back tomorrow for part two, curl up with someone you love by a warm fire, put on my mix and just enjoy each other's company, thats the best way to spend any holiday

also Merry holidays
Brendan

new(?) music 11/21

yeah so, lil late, still trying to get the hang of this, i really want these to stop being so few and far between, but you get a new music playlist this week so it's not all bad, this week i've been listening to lot of songs that sample other songs as well as covers, not all are great and some are just plain awful, still though they all caught my ear

T.I. - live your life(feat. Rhianna)
you've definitely heard this song, because this guy is a machine and he's got Rhianna backing him on this track.... also it samples O-Zone's Dragostea din Tei.
...
the numa numa guy song, so thats fun, it's like 5 years irrelevant at this point and T.I. and weezer won't let me forget about this thing. still though nostalgia aside it's a catchy song with a really serious message, nothing i can really relate to...something about integrity in rap or whatever. but theres a message there i promise...either way just live your life, cause this will go away

Marnie stern- Don't stop believin'
marnie sterns from new york,so she sounds a bit like cat power, feist and karen o, still though i giver her credit for taking a song like don't stop believin' and adding to it, it actually sounds "not the same" not that there have been tons of covers of this song, it's just actually unique for a cover i can't say Journey would be pleased, but then again who the hell cares it's this or your friend doing on Rock band 2... I'll take this

You, Me, and Everyone We Know- Happy Birthday
no it's not a cover of happy birthday, this song is just a new song that i like, from a new band i like. so young and insane is the second CD this band has decided to give out for free, recently max bemis came out in support of this band, and even appeared on the finished version of the the albums first track "i can get back up" this album also had some work on by members of motion city soundtrack, and this song is just a really catchy song of of said cd

Rick Ross- sunglasses
there are other people on this track, but i have no idea who they are, it took me a while to figure which one "rick ross" was(if you don't know he did "everyday i'm hustlin'") but he sophomore cd still hustlin actually did stand out to me... it has about 3 tracks that sample older songs. this song samples my FAVORITE 80's hit Cory Hart's "sunglasses at night". which is kind of a really gay song with a cool beat, so it's win win, not bad song all and all, just weird

t-pain- superstar lady
this song is just name dropping, the idea is to compare all his "lady's" parts and actions to popular celebrity's. which makes for fun but really makes you laugh when you think of how little sense this song will make in 5 or 10 years, of the lies is party like a Hilton, sex like a Kardashian. still hough i really like T-pain, he's alot of fun he's never to serious and he gets along with everyone, he's a really quality producer, check out thr33 rings, i've listened to it quite bit this month

cruiserweight- balboa
crusierweight reminds me quite abit of Zolof the rock an roll destroyer, who i love. thats probably because they both came out california, have female vocalist's and only sing about happy things. balboa's a confident song, but whatever. i'm really happy to hear a female rock band thats not paramore these days, which is sad because i used to love Hayley Williams, she "that cute lil' punk rock spitfire from paramore" now i just think "oh god theres that twat from paramore singing about sexy vampires or blowing new found glory". in summery listen to crusierweight , don't see twilight or your a whore...to me at least

The Two tongues- crawl
speaking of max bemis(like 3 songs ago). he just got engaged yo someone from eisely just like taking back sunday...more importantly, in February he and Chris Conley will be releasing a cd under there side project the two tongues. so if you lie saves the day and/or say anything check out the first track to be released from the two tongues "crawl"

Common- Universal mind control
this song samples "planet rock" which is awesome.... and is used to advertise the new zune software update "zune 3.0" of which i don't care about. none the less this song is sick, very futurstic and the video has a robot in it....oh also pharell is in the song, i'm not being disjointed i just care more about the robot than i do about pharell on this track.

oh no oh my- boy with and anchor
this is indie peaceful fun, existentially ripe with metaphors, but i do like the line "i tried to write , i tried to love... but all my i failed at both" also a fun use of brass instruments in the chorus...if that your thing. danceable death cab...no not the postal service, jerk

innerpartysystem- don't stop
i just saw these guys with 3oh!3, lyrically this song/band is retarded but the can put out some good music and beats, also they have their own light show so i say it's worth seeing live if you get the chance, but yeah lyrically it's all society and "dear future..." nonsense, doesn't make sense, not to me at least, but i can be dense so whatever. everything else is blast though.

Jack's mannequin- the resolution
i really don't like the glass passenger, i liked their first cd more...and i like all of something corporate more than that...so i guess i feel like Andrew Macmahon is moving steadily down, because i feel like his recent work is at best on "par" with this best work. that being said the resolution IS a pretty solid song, and does remind me of some of the old somethng corporate stuff, so it ain't all bad... stupid cancer(ask me about glassjaw)

Santogold- lights out
this is the theme song to bud light with lime... so that fun, i had it stuck in my head, so listened to it and accidentally put it on this playlist...but it's a fine song so i didn't feel like taking it off, I'm pretty sure i even put it on a play list on my blog already... well here it is again, with an explanation

Fall out boy- love lockdown
it's funny... i love both kanye west and fall out boy, but i feel like this is the best thing they've both put out, in that fall out boy do a better version of this song than kanye does...and love lockdown is better than some of the demo's for the new fall out boy cd. i hope i'm wrong for both their sakes

Red Car Wire- i kissed a girl
this is a cover... of katy perry... so there's that too

enjoy... or don't

update: 11/2...what i'm up to

okay, so i just started work this week so, i feel a bit behind due to poor time management... however this does not mean that i have fell behind on my media..so a brief overview

what i'm watching
avatar the last airbender: this show is phenomenal! i speak with enthusiasm! i was quick to judge this show while it was still airing on nickelodeon but it's really something special. it has integrity in iy's drama and actual humor when appropriate..but yeah i'm up to season 3. so far just great

the office: employee transfer, wasn't a very good episode. i wouldn't call it a bad episode persay, but not near the top. the advertised Halloween stuff was 5 min in the beginning, enjoyable but a letdown when i realized that was all. we saw Micheal and Holly break up(?) or at least end things temporarily which also depressed me as holly was my favorite new character this season. worse yet we saw a very unimpressive c story in Jim visiting Pam in NY with his brothers taking him out to dinner and attempt to prank him...it just ends up making me sad...the saving grace comes with a story between Dwight and Andy fighting over Andy's precious "Cornell" that and the scene with mike, holly and Daryl singing "life is a highway"...high larious, not a total loss, but kind of a let down

valentine- this show caught me off guard. i actually like weird magic non sense in my prime time that's why i like pushing daises and lost and all that nonsense, so it may not surprise you that i find this show adorable...and probably cancelled... but hopefully get through 1 season so i can add another show to my DVD collection of no renewal for a second season(catchy, no?) any way the shows about the gods of love Aphrodite and the rest running their godly duties like a matchmaking service, so each week is them trying to bring two soul mates together using their magic powers. it's cute... whats alsoute is Taylor from the OC, as she plays the same kind of awkward fidgety character.
i'm about to start watching weeds season three as well as catch up o the current season of dexter

what i'm listening to

forgive durden-razia's shadow: a musical- i started to talk about this before in my new music post but i can't explain how good it is. each character is perfectly represented by the people playing them especially max bemis, shawn harris and brendon urie. nic newsham does really well too. but much credit to thomas dutton for putting together a cohesive musical journey. unfortunately i really don't think there's a market for this sort of thing... so I'm curious to see how well it does

sugarcult- start static- goooooood cd. i used to just max and relax with sugarcult hang out with friends and nothing got me pumped more than "bouncing off the walls again"...then i graduated, and forgot about them in a sea of indie rock and others. but start static at the very least stands the test of time i listened to it today in the car and it was poppy and fun it had everyone singing along.

kanye west robocop- the premise is stupid I'm gonna talk about more in new music this week but suffice to say this song is bizarre...it's either a demo or one of the new songs along with love lock down... either way, weird

that's all for now
